The Northfield bats were as cold as it was outside Monday, collecting just 4 hits in a 14-0 loss to Whitko.
The night got off to a bad start when Whitko scored 6 runs in the top of the first and another 2 in the third to lead 8-0. The Norse looked like they might answer with a fun in the first when Jarred Short led off with a single before the Wildcats turned a double play and forced a fly out to end the inning.
In the second Jakob Hayes led off with a single before a two out walk by Mason Hovey put runners on firth and second. Sean Rodriguez was then hit by to load the bases before a ground out ended the inning.
Dylan Brown would collect a single in the third before Whitko went off for 6 runs in the fourth to lead 14-0. The Norse went out in order in the fourth and got a single from Short in the fifth.
Jakob Hayes took the loss on the mound, pitching 3 innings while giving up 8 hits. Matt Coe pitched 2 innings giving up 5 hits.
