The Manchester baseball team played at home Tuesday in what was originally a scheduled away game. With North Miami’s field being to wet the game was moved to Manchester where the Squires defeated the Warriors 9-3.
The Squires were the visitors in the game and struck in the top of the first. Bailey Ness led off reaching on an error and was followed by a David McAtee one out double to make it 1-0. Rylie Rickert would then drive home McAtee with a single for a 2-0 lead. North Miami answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-1.
The Squires would build on their lead in the second, scoring 4 runs off hits from Janzin Cripe, Trey Mcnall and Landon Tharp. Bailey Ness scored after reaching on an error. Manchester led 6-1 after two.
Manchester would plate another run in the third when Zach Hill was hit by a pitch and drove home by McNall to make it 7-1.
The Squires would score single runs in the 4th and 5th before North Miami scored 2 in the 7th for the 9-3 final.
Landon Tharp and Trey Mcnall each had 2 hits and 1 rbi. David McAtee had 1 hit and 1 rbi. Kane Gable added 1 rbi. Bailey Ness, Rylie Rickert, Zach Hill, Janzin Cripe and Mason Meyer each had a hit.
Hayes Sturtsman got the win on the mound, allowing 5 hits while striking out 7.
