Manchester Tennis Tops Whitko

The Manchester tennis team defeated Whitko 4-1 Tuesday.

Manchester traveled to Whitko and defeated the Wildcats 4-1 to remain unbeaten in conference play. Manchester one doubles had little trouble as Reilly Ruppert ad Kelsey Eichenauer quickly won 6-0,6-0. At two doubles Bethany Collett and Lydia Little came out strong and finished off their opponents 6-0,6-1. Next off the courts was Leiah Brandenburg. She led 6-1,3-0 before losing focus and dropping 3 of the next 4 games. Up 4-3 Brandenburg would take two games and set two, 6-3. At 2 singles Allison Smith played a great match, especially winning he close games to win 6-1,6-0. After two hours and 40 minutes, Karly Eichenauer narrowly lost 6-2,2-6,5-7. Eichenauer was up 4-2 and add in in set three but failed to convert some crucial long games to victories. The Lady Squires raise their record to 9-2 on the year and host Huntington North on Wednesday for Senior Night at 4:30.
