Southwood Netters Fall To Maconaquah

The Lady Knight Netters came up short at Maconaquah Thursday evening by the score of 1-4.

The lone winners were the the #2 doubles pair of Kelly Schmidt and Hannah King by the scores of 6-2,6-3. Drue Gentry lost in sets at #2 singles, Anna Rees lost a close match at #1 singles, and Kim Hobson (#3 singles) and #1 doubles Mary Sieberns/Brooke Wyatt couldn’t overcome unforced errors in their straight set losses. Southwood is now 4-7 overall and 2-2 in TRC play.

The JV won 4-1. Singles winners were Kelsey Niccum,and Katie Springer. The doubles pairs of Emily Gwillim/Lorynn Hunt and Kyrstin Gouveia/Haleigh Snyder won.

The varsity Knights host Bishop Luers, Lewis Cass, and Maconaquah Saturday morning in the Southwood Invitational.
