The Manchester Lady Squires played in the Garrett Invite Saturday, going 1-1 on the day. In game one Manchester defeated Garrett 8-2 before falling to Dwenger 9-2.
In game one the Squires scored in five of the six innings at the plate. In the first Emma West would lead off with a walk and move to second when Katelyn Andritsch was hit by a pitch. Cierra Carter would then draw a walk to load the bases before Kiera Stacy grounded out, scoring West. Mattie McKee would then drive home Andritsch before Carter scored on a passed ball to lead 3-0.
In the second Kennedy Fierstos would reach on an error before a line drive out and a ground out left her standing on second. West would then single home Fierstos for a 4-0 lead.
Garrett would score a run in the top of the third with the Squires getting the run back in the bottom of the inning. Carter would lead off with a walk and move to second on a passed ball. Stacy would then single to put runners on the corners before a McKeee walk loaded the bases. Sydney Day would draw the third walk of the inning to force home a run for a 5-1 score.
It was much of the same in the fourth with Garrett scoring in the top and Manchester answering. West would draw a one out walk before stealing second and advancing to third. Carter would then reach on an error, scoring West to make it 6-2.
In the sixth Carter would single and rounded the bases, followed by Stacy when she reached on an error for the 8-2 final.
In game two the Squires out hit Dwenger 11-10 but only managed to plate a run in the first and one in the seventh. In the first Emma West led off with a single and advanced to second on an error. Katelyn Andritsch would then single home West.
In the seventh Erika Kendall would collect a one out single before a Audrey Weimann single. Kendall was then picked off second before West doubled home Weimann.
