The Wabash baseball team scored in the first and last innings Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough as the fell to Tippecanoe Valley 5-2.
Valley would score a run in the first with the Apaches answering in the bottom of the inning. With one out Jordan Holley would be hit by a pitch. With two outs Jordan Burnsworth walked before an Austin Hostetler single scored Holley to make it 1-1.
Valley would score three times in the third and once in the fourth to grab a 5-1 lead and held Wabash at bay until the seventh. Zach Newman led off being hit by a pitch before Justin Beauchamp reached on a Valley error with Newman taking second. Kaleb Kelsheimer would then walk to load the bases with no outs before an infield pop up resulted in a double play. Newman would then score on a passed ball before the final out.
