The rain held off long enough so that Wabash Little League coaches pitch league could squeeze in a couple games on Friday. The First Merchants Bank Reds hosted the BC Construction Dodgers in the first game of the night. After a scoreless first inning, Branson Hayslett started a hit parade in the bottom of the second inning and the Reds scored 6 runs in the bottom of the second. Branson, and Kameron Seeley, both went 3 for 3 for the night at the plate. The Dodgers played some good defense and Brody Height and Zion McKnight both went 2 for 2 at the plate. Dodgers scored 3 runs in the 4th inning to get a little closer but the Reds remained hot. The Reds win 14-4. The second game of the night had the B Walter & Co. Inc RedSox battling the C/S Printing Cubs. This game was a very close game with some very good defense and hitting by both teams. Aiden Fishback, Korbin Haupert, and Alec Oswalt had the hot gloves, all three catching pop ups and line drives hit by the Cubs. The Cubs hit the ball well but the defense of the RedSox was able to shut them down. After back and forth scoring and the game being tied through 3 1/2 innings the RedSox shut down the Cubs in the 5th and got the hot bats in the bottom of the 5th. Sophie Powell drove the nail in the Cubs by hitting a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 5th. RedSox win 13-7.
