Lady Knights Tennis Moved Indoors

The Southwood Lady Knight Netters ventured to the Warsaw Racquet Club Saturday for TRC tennis action with Rochester and Tippecanoe Valley. Weather moved the matches from Valley to the indoor facility.

Southwood lost to a very solid Rochester squad 0-5. #1 singles player Anna Rees had the closest match as she lost 5-7,3-6. The #2 doubles pair of Kelly Schmidt and Hannah King lost by a similar close score of 6-7(5), 4-6.

Southwood took on Tippecanoe Valley in their second match of the day at the Warsaw Racquet Club, and was victorious 5-0.

All three singles players recorded a 6-0 set in their straight set victories. #1 Anna Rees won 6-0, 6-4. #2 Drue Gentry won 6-3, 6-0. And #3 Kim Hobson won 6-1,6-0. The #1 doubles pair of Brooke Wyatt and Mary Sieberns prevailed in a tight three set match by the scores of 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 and the #2 doubles tandem of Kelly Schmidt and Hannah King cruised to a 6-2,6-2 win.

The Knights are now 6-9 and 4-3(TRC) on the season

The Knights will close out the regular season Monday evening at home against Manchester.
