The Wabash and Manchester softball teams hooked up Friday in a TRC match up with Squires pitcher Mattie McKee holding the Apaches to just 4 hits while the Squires pounded out 15 and took advantage of 8 Wabash errors to defeat Wabash 16-0.
The Lady Squire bats were hot right from the start, scoring 3 runs in the first. Emma West would lead off with a single and was moved to second on a Katelyn Andritsch single. With one out Kiera Stacy would single with West being forced out at third. Mattie McKee would then double to score Andritsch before a Sydney Day double drove home two for a 3-0 lead.
Manchester would get two more in the third. With one out Stacy would double, followed by a McKee single to put runners on the corners. With two outs Kennedy Fierstos would single home Stacy and McKee for a 5-0 lead.
The Lady Squires would tack on two more in the fourth. Keali Carter would single and was followed by a West walk. Andritsch would then single to load the bases before Cierra Carter reached on a fielders choice to lead 6-0. With two outs Day would reach on an error to score West as the Squires led 7-0.
Manchester would collect 4 hits and take advantage of 4 Wabash errors in the sixth to plate 9 runs in route to the 16-0 win.
