Squires Fall In Slug Fest To Valley

The Manchester baseball team suffered a loss to Tippecanoe Valley Friday, falling to the Vikings 11-8.

Valley would score 2 runs in the top of the first with the Squires grabbing the lead in the bottom of the inning. Bailey Ness would draw a walk. Rylie Rickert was hit by a pitch with Hayes Sturtsman following with a double. A single from Zach Hill made it 3-2.

Valley would come back to plate 4 runs in the third with the Squires answering with two. David McAtee was hit by a pitch with Sturtsman drawing a walk before a Janzin Cripe 2 run single made it 6-5.

Manchester would score 2 more runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, but couldn’t hold off the Viking attack as Valley scored 2 in the sixth and 2 in the 7th for the 10-8 final.

David McAtee had 2 hits and 2 rbi’s. Hayes Sturtdman had 2 hits and 1 rbi. Janzin Cripe had 2 hits and 2 rbi. Zach Hill had 1 hit and 2 rbi. Bailey Ness had 1 hit and 2 stolen bases.
