The Manchester tennis team completed a perfect 8-0 conference season with a 5-0 victory over host Southwood. Leading the way was senior Allison Smith at one singles and Reilly Ruppert at one doubles bringing the team record to 13-2. Smith found herself down 1-3 but went on an 11-0 run to end her match 6-3,6-1. Karly Eichenauer won handily 6-2,6-2 as did Leiah Brandenburg at #3, 6-0,6-3. Kelsey Eichenauer joined Ruppert to take one doubles 6-2,6-2 while Bethany Collett dominated the net and partner Lydia Little hit great groundstrokes to win two doubles 6-0,6-2. “This was a solid win at all 5 positions as we accomplished one of our season’s goals, a conference title.” Manchester’s last TRC crown was 2012. The Lady Squires also won the JV match 11-3 in which all 20 Lady Knight players faced the 14 available Lady Squires.
