The Manchester Lady Squires bats were hot once again as they collected 14 hits and scored in five of the six innings in a 10-0 win at Maconaquah Wednesday. With the win the Lady Squires wrap up the TRC, their first conference title since 2007.
Manchester would jump on the Braves early, scoring 3 runs in the first. Emma West led off with a single and advanced to second on an error. With one out Cierra Carter would double home West for a 1-0 lead. Kiera Stacy would then get an infield single with Carter staying at second before both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch. Mattie McKee would then ground out to score Carter before a Sydney Day walk. Brooklyn Howard then singled home Stacy to lead 3-0.
The Lady Squires would score a single run in the second. With one out West would single before a two out Carter walk. Stacy would then single home West for a 4-0 lead.
Again it was a single run in the third. McKee would lead off with a single and was followed with a one out walk from Howard. Kennedy Fierstos then singled home McKee to make it 5-0.
Manchester would score once in the fifth. Howard would draw a walk and advanced to second on a passed ball, then third on a wild pitch before a Fierstos grounder drove Howard home to lead 6-0.
The Lady Squires put the game away in the sixth. Carter led off with a double and was followed by a Stacy rbi single. McKee then doubled home Stacy to make it 8-0. Weimann would come in to run for McKee before Day singled to put runners at first and third. With one out Fierstos grouded out to score Weimann to make it 9-0 before Day scored on a passed ball for the 10-0 final.
