Manchester University totaled 50-points-or-higher on the men’s and women’s 2015-16 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference all-sports standings in route to a top five mark for the Commissioner’s Cup final listing, released May 10.
MU ended with a combined 104.2 points, just three behind Transylvania University for fourth place. Rose-Hulman claimed its fifth cup with 130.3 points which was 10 in front of second-place Hanover College.
On the men’s all-sports standings, the Black and Gold turned in a strong third-place finish, bolstered by a runner-up ending for cross country and top five efforts in football, baseball, basketball and indoor and outdoor track and field. Their 52.2 points were less than seven behind runner-up Hanover College.
As for the women’s all-sports standings, the Triple Crown calendar year sweep of the cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field team titles lifted the Spartans to 52 points, good for fifth place. They were less than six points out of the top three.
