The Manchester baseball team took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, then went silent as they fell 10-3 to Maconaquah Wednesday.
The Squires would plate 2 runs in the first when Bailey Ness led off drawing a walk and was followed by a Kane Gable single to out runners on the corners. David McAtee then walked to load the bases before a Rylie Rickert single scored Ness and Gable to make it 2-0.
Maconaquah would answer with a run in the first, 2 in the second, 1 in the third, 2 in the fourth and 2 in the fifth before the Squires would score again in the sixth. The Squires had the bases loaded with no outs after a Guerrero walk, Kane being hit by a pitch and a single from McAtee before hitting into a 1-2-3 double play. Gable would then score on a passed ball to make it 8-3. Maconaquah would come back in the bottom of the inning to plate 2 runs for the 10-3 final.
