The Wabash softball team played in the South Adams tourney Saturday, falling to Monroe Central 16-5 and Union 6-2.
In game one against Monroe Central the Lady Apaches grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first. Bre Sewell led off with a home run to center to give Wabash a 1-0 lead. Whitney Working then reached on an error before a Montana Castro single put runners on the corners. Mettler then singles home Working with Castro scoring on a wild pitch for a 3-0 lead. After a Halverson walk King singled home Mettler to lead 4-0.
Wabash would then give up 10 straight runs before they got on the board again in the fifth. Kelsey Olinger led off reaching on an error and scored on a Mettler grounder.
In game two Wabash trailed 6-0 heading to the bottom of the seventh when they scored twice. Castro led off with a walk and was pinch ran for by Richardson. Mettler would hit in to a force out before taking second on a wild pitch. After a Halverson walk, Olinger would single home Mettler and Halverson for the 6-2 final.
