The girls track regionals were held Tuesday with Manchester’s Rae Bedke advancing to the state finals in two events.
Not only did Bedke advance, she is the Kokomo regional champion in the 1600 and 3200. Bedke won the 1600 in 5:06.41, which was 3 seconds ahead of second place. Later in the meet Bedke won the 3200 in 11:07.93 which was also 3 seconds in fron of second.
The Manchester 4×800 relay team finished 16th, while Bailey Sewell finshed 6th in the discus.
At Marion the county did not have a state qualifier.
Southwood’s Ellie White was 16th in the 200 and 14th in the 400. Southwood’s Morgan Farr was 16th in the 800 and 10th in the 1600. Wabash’s Madison Barden was 12th in the 100 hurdles with Southwood’s Makenna Dawes placing 13th. Northfield’s Jacklyn Peas was 6th in the 300 hurdles with Wabash’s Madison Barden 13th and Southwood’s Makenna Dawes 16th. Southwood’s 4×400 relay finished 9th. Northfield’s 4×800 relay finished 14th. Southwood Elana Goff was 16th in the high jump. Wabash’s Katie McCauley was 4th in the shot put with Southwood’s Mariah Paris 10th. Southwood’s Bailey Hobbs was 6th in the discus.
