The Manchester Lady Squires struggled most of the night at the plate Tuesday, but were still one out away from a win before an Oak Hill home run sent the game to an extra inning with Oak Hill pulling off the upset 4-3.
Oak Hill took the lead in the second. Buckler led off with a single and was followed by a Robey single. A sacrifice moved the runners one base before a Dubois grounder scored Buckler.
The Lady Squires would draw even in the fourth when Mattie McKee drew a one out walk. Sydney Day then reached on an error that both runners advanced on. With one out Brooklyn Howard would hit a grounder that brought McKee home to tie the score 1-1. Oak Hill answered in the bottom of the inning when Buckler hit a one out single before a Robey walk. Both runners would advance a base on a steal before Nail hit a grounder to second to score Buckler for a 2-1 Eagle lead.
Manchester would grab their first lead of the game in the fifth. Ellie Milam led off with a double before taking third on a passed ball. Emma West would draw a walk and steal second. Milam would then score on a wild pitch to make it 2-2 with West standing on third. After a strike out and a line drive out Kiera Stacy would single home West to give the Squires a 3-2 lead.
The game remained 3-2 until the bottom of the seventh. Squire pitcher Brooklyn Howard forced a ground out and struck out a batter as the Squires were an out away from advancing when Hasty hit a shot over the left field fence to force another inning.
Kiera Stacy hit a one out double for Manchester in the top of the eighth, but the threat was stopped with two fly outs. In the bottom of the inning Tucci would hit a one out single before Buckler reached on an error. Robey was then hit by a pitch to load the bases before Nall flew out to left, deep enough to score pinch runner Hollars for the Oak Hill 4-3 win.
