The Wabash 12U all stars now have their backs against the wall as they fell to 0-2 in pool play after a rain delayed extra inning 8-7 loss to Frankfort Friday.
Frankfort led off the game hitting a home run on the first pitch of the game with Wabash answering in the bottom of the bottom of the inning on a Jarrett Craft home run.
Wabash would grab the lead in the second when Chayden Beeks drew a one out walk and was followed by a two out walk from Jaden Truman. With runners on second and third Brayden Sickafus would single to drive home Beeks for a 2-1 lead. Jared Brooks would then walk before a Craft single scored Truman and Sickafus to lead 4-1.
Frankfort would cut the Wabash lead in half in the top of the third at 4-2 before a Koby Thomas home run in the bottom of the inning made it 5-2.
Frankton would score 4 times in the fifth to grab a 6-5 lead and held the lead until one out in the sixth when the rain came. After play resumed Jarrett Craft came to the plate with two outs and Wabash’s last hope when he hit his second bomb of the game to send the game to extra innings.
The game went to the ninth when Frankfort scored 2 runs in the top of the inning. Wabash would respond and had the fans on the edge of their seats. With two outs Joey Bland would double and was followed by a Beeks single to put runners on the corners. Mason Dillon would then single home Bland to make it 8-7 and two on before a strike out ended the game.
Wabash will now play Decatur Saturday in their final pool play game, then wait to find out their fate.
