The Northfield football team took on Tippecanoe Valley Friday in an important TRC match up, using a second quarter explosion to defeat Valley 40-0.
The Norse grabbed the lead just a minute into the game when Jensen Frieden broke loose for a 71yd touchdown run for a 7-0 lead.
The second quarter would be the dagger as the Norse put up 27 points. Kyle Reed found pay dirt from 9yds out to make it 14-0 with 9:40 on the clock before John Schuler broke loose for 58yds and a 21-0 lead. With 3:54 left Lane Evans hooked up with Schuler for a 16yd passing TD, then found Kade Kennedy from 22yds put to lead 34-0 at the half.
The Norse would tack on one more TD in the third before calling off the dogs when Jackson Berry scored on a 27yd run for the 40-0 score.
