Two Manchester University athletes earn weekly HCAC honors

Senior women’s cross country student-athlete Mariah Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and sophomore volleyball student-athlete Hannah Tevis (Royal Center, Ind.) represented Manchester University on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly honors for the period of Sept. 12-18.

Jordan, garnering her second honor of 2016 and the eighth of her collegiate career, was tabbed women’s Runner of the Week after recording a fourth-place finish at the Little States’ section of the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships Sept. 16.  A time of 19:44.84 helped mark her third top 10 Little State effort.

Tevis, gathering volleyball Offensive Player of the Week accolades, recorded a .478 hitting percentage while leading the Spartans to three straight-set wins out of four victories at their home invitational Sept. 16 and 17.  Tevis, the tournament Most Valuable Player, averaged just under three kills per set along with totaling three service aces and four blocks over the weekend.
