Southwood Takes Two From Wabash In JH Football

The southwood 7th grade football team defeated Wabash 14-6 Tuesday.

James Headley ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns as Tyler Whitesel quarterbacked the Knights to a victory. Joey Bland added 35 yards plus a two point conversion, Koby Thomas 23 yards, Whitesel 5 yards, and 5 yards for Grant Holloway.
On defense Derrick Smith defended a pass, Kolton Sollars had a quarterback hurry, and Kaden Meredith recovered a fumble plus pulled in an interception. James Headley, Tyler Whitesel, and Grat Holloway lead the team in tackles.

Team leaders for Wabash were Mason Dillon with a 11 yard TD pass to Ethan Kocher that caped of a 4th quarter 75 yard drive for the only score of the game

Jared Brooks ran the ball well and converted a 9 yard fake punt.

 

The Southwood 8th grade defeated Wabash 20-0.

Elijah Sutton scored on offense( a 9 yard pass), and defense defense (a 30 yard interception) to lead the Knighs in scoring. Tristin Hayslett did his share of the work gaining 86 yards rushing and spring the other Knights TD. Alex Farr was 12 of 15 for 99 yards and a TD.
The defense played hard with Carson Rich leading the way involved in 15 tackles. Connor Rich defended a pass, Logan Barley pick off a pass with an 8 yard return, and Dawson Filip ran for 7 yards after grabbing a stray pass. Jacob James and Elijah Sutton also had strong efforts on defense as the Knights kept the Apaches out of the end zone.

Bryson Zapata led the Wabash offense in rushing and was also the leading tackler on defense. Isaiah Eis had 2 catches and Jasper Walter contributed an interception.
