Norse Offense Clicks On All Cylinders

The Northfield football team hadn’t won a game at Rochester since 1994 and they made up for all the years in one night Friday, defeating the Zebras 70-6.

Less than two minutes into the game Lane Evans would get the Norse first score on an 8yd keeper to make it 7-0. Rochester would answer with a score at the 4:28 mark to close the gap to 7-6 when the game became all Northfield. With 3:15 left in the quarter Jackson Beery would score from 9yds out and after the Kade Kennedy kick it was 14-6. With 1:56 left the Norse blocked a punt that was picked up by John Schuler and ran back 20yds to lead 21-6 after one

With 8:08 left in the second quarter Schuler would find the end zone from 8yds out to increase the lead to 28-6. The last score of the half came from Jensen Frieden when he broke loose for 47yds for a 35-6 halftime lead.

The Norse would continue to roll in the third. Beery would score from 16yds out with 7:58 left to go up 42-6 and was followed by a Frieden TD run from 53yds out to make it 48-6. With 4:06 on the clock the Norse defense would get a safety to lead 50-6 and end the quarter with an 8yd TD run from Beery to lead 57-6.

The reserves would dominate the time in the fourth quarter and took full advantage of it. Braden Ripplinger would score on a run from 38yds out with the final score coming from Graydon Craig from 43yds away.
