Bonus-point victories fuel Indiana Tech past Spartans

FORT WAYNE, IND. – Junior 141-pounder Chase Wilson (Peru, Ind.) kept the beat rolling Friday, Feb. 3, earning the 28th win of his 2016-17 season.

Wilson got ahead of Indiana Tech’s Matthew Miller early and often, registering 11 points in route to an 11-0 major decision. The four team points spotlighted the evening for Coach Kevin Lake’s squad against the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ second-ranked Warriors at the Schaefer Center. Indiana Tech reeled off bonus-point finishes in six of the 10 match-ups in route to a 44-4 dual score.

MU had two other chances to add to their total. Freshman 157-pounder Jordan Napier gave Mitch Roadruck a strong tussle for seven minutes, falling 8-4, while senior heavyweight Brian Clark (Milford, Ind.) was edged by Eric Ousley 1-0.

Freshman 141-pounder Stevan Najeeb (Warren, Mich.) gained another highlight for the Black and Gold in exhibition action with a 4-2 decision. MU (4-12) winds up its dual campaign Tuesday, Feb. 7, traveling to Trine University for a 7 p.m. start.
