The Southwood boys played host to Northwestern on a Saturday afternoon, getting 32 points from Matt Nose in a 66-61 win over the Wildcats. In the win Carson Blair eclipsed the 1000 point barrier with a jumper in the fourth.
In a fast paced first quarter the Knights led 18-17 when the dust settled, then out scored Northwestern 12-8 in the second to lead 30-25 at the half.
Southwood would extend their lead in the third, winning the quarter 15-9 for a 45-34 before a track meet broke out in the fourth. Northwestern would out score Southwood 27-21, but the cushion built through out the game was enough for the 66-61 win.

The Southwood junior varsity defeated Northwestern 58-53 in overtime.
After struggling to stop Northwestern’s potent offense in the first half the Knights battled back to send the game to overtime. The Knights won the extra period 9-4 to carry their record to 11-5.
Ethen Roberts led in scoring with 19 points. Jackson Simons didn’t score in the first half, but his 17 second half points included the field goal that sent the game to OT. Gabe Lloyd had 13 points and 3 assists. Both Luke Winer and Dylan Filip had 4 points. Braden Barney added 1 point, 3 assists and led in rebounds with 5.
