The Southwood junior high boys basketball teams played host to Maconaquah in the second round of the RRC tournament Tuesday.
The 7th grade fell to Maconaquah 32-21.
Cole Winer and Jason Oprisek led the scoring with 6 points each, while Kaden Rody added 4 and Mo Lloyd 3. Added scoring came from Dylan Stout and Blake Smith.
The Southwood 8th grade won a 33-28 overtime thriller over Maconaquah.
This game started off as a close one, with the Knights being able to pull away at half to a 7 point lead. The Braves responded with a lot of pressure in the third forcing the Knights into many turnovers. The 4th quarter saw both teams exchange the lead multiple times. With 5 seconds left and the three point deficit the Braves dribbled full court and hit a three as the buzzer sounded to send the game to Overtime. In OT the Knights played great defense holding the Braves to 0 points. Despite 2-19 from 3 point land, 7-14 from the FT line, and 17 turnovers the Knights battled all game long and came out on victory.

With the win the 8th grade will play in the semi finals Saturday morning at North Miami
