The Manchester baseball team finished off a great day on the diamond for the Squires Wednesday. Brooklyn Howard had just tossed a no hitter against Central Noble while Hayes Sturtsman was working a masterpiece of his own. The Squires defeated Wayne 2-0 with Sturtsman allowing just one hit while striking out 13. Even more amazing is the fact he did it on just 81 pitches.
The Squires collected just three hits with one of them coming at the perfect time. In the second Sturtsman would lead off with a walk. Mason Meyer would then hit a one out single. With two outs Kam Lester would draw a walk to load the bases when Noah Beck delivered a two out, two run single to score Sturtsman and Meyer for a 2-0 lead. The two runs would be all the Squires would need as Sturtsman struck out nine more batters the rest of the game for the 2-0 win.
