The Manchester baseball team got back in the hunt for a TRC title Monday, jumping out to a 5-0 lead and defeating North Miami 9-2.
The Squires would grab the lead in the second when Mason Meyer hit a one out single and advanced to third on a Hunter Boughman single. Trey McNall was then hit by a pitch to load the bases before Kam Lester reached on an error with Meyer scoring to take a 1-0 lead. Noah Beck would then double home Boughman and McNall to make it 3-0.
The Squires would extend their lead in the third. With two outs Meyer would single and was followed by a Boughman two run home run to grab a 5-0 lead.
The Warriors would get on the board in the fifth. Andrew Saddlemire would draw a one out walk and advanced to second on a Trevor Linn single. Both runners would advance a base on a passed ball before a Zane Briggs ground out scored Saddlemire to make it 5-1. Linn would then score on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 5-2. The Squires would answer in the bottom of the inning. Meyer would lead off with a single, followed by a Boughman single. McNall then singled home Meyer to make it 6-2. Lester then hit an infield single with Boughman scoring on an error. Noah Beck then flew out to right with pinch runner Kaleb Fluke tagging up to score and make it 8-2. The last run of the inning and game came off a David McAtee fly ball that scored Lester to make it 9-2.
