The Northfield softball team traveled to Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday, leading twice before falling to the Vikings 6-4.
The Norse would score a run in the top of the first when Shelby Ward hit a one out double. With two outs Jordan Shafer drove home ward with a single for a 1-0 lead.
Valley would tie the score in the third before the Norse took the lead again in the top of the fourth. Michelle Hunt would lead off the inning with a single with Olivia Taylor moving Hunt a base while reaching on a fielders choice. With one out Kiana Kendall singled home Hunt and Taylor to lead 3-1. Valley would get one run back in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2.
Northfield would extend their lead a run in the sixth. Olivia Taylor would reach on a bunt single. With one out Kendall would double with Taylor being held up at third before a Ward single scored Taylor to lead 4-2. Valley would come back with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the score, then hit a two run walk off home run in the bottom for the 6-4 final.
