The Manchester softball team scored 5 runs the first two innings while Mattie McKee held Southwood to just 4 hits in an 8-0 win over the Knights Wednesday.
Emma West would lead off the game with a single and was followed with a sac ground out from Brooklyn Howard. Cierra Carter would then reach on an error with West scoring for a 1-0 lead. Kiera Stacy and Sydney Day would then hit back to back singles to load the bases before Carter scored on a passed ball. Kennedy Fierstos would then single home Stacy and Day to make it 4-0.
Manchester would add a run in the second when West hit a two out triple and scored when Howard reached on an error.
With two outs in the fifth Stacy would double, then score on a Day single. The Squires would get their last two runs in the sixth. With one out Mackenzie Day would single. With two outs Howard would reach on an error to put runners on the corners before a hard hit grounder by Carter scored Day. Howard would then score on a passed ball for the 8-0 score.
