Southwood Tennis Falls To Maconaquah

Maconaquah visited Southwood for the second time in 4 days for a rescheduled tennis match. The Braves upended the Knights 4-1.

Drue Gentry lost at #1 singles in straight sets. Kim Hobson picked up the lone Knight win as she played very well and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win. Lorynn Hunt fell in straight sets at #3.

The #1 doubles pair of Brooke Wyatt and Emily Gwillim dropped a close first set 5-7, but battled back to take set two to force the third set. Maconaquah grabbed the early momentum and cruised to the win. The #2 doubles tandem of Hannah King and Mary Sieberns won the first set in a tiebreaker before Maconaquah came back to win the next two sets in the longest match of the night.

The Knights fall to 4-12, 1-5 on the season and host Tippecanoe Valley Thursday evening in the last home match and Senior Night.

The Knights JV claimed a 4-1 win over Maconaquah. Winners included Allison Steele, Baylee Swain, Makayla Murphy, and the doubles pair of Kyrstin Gouveia/Haleigh Snyder.
