Southwood Tennis Picks Up Much Needed Win

The Lady Knight Netters hosted Tippecanoe Valley on Senior Night and came away with a much-needed 4-1 win over the Lady Vikings.

#2 singles player Kim Hobson got the Knights on the board first with a smooth 6-0,6-1 win. #1 singles player Drue Gentry finished soon thereafter with an efficient 6-0,6-3 win.
The #1 doubles tandem of Brooke Wyatt/Emily Gwillim won the first set handily 6-3 and struggled to a second set win in a tiebreaker to give the Knights the point needed to win the match. #3 singles player Lorynn Hunt once again battled for 3 sets before prevailing in a third set super tiebreaker. The #2 doubles team of Hannah King/Mary Sieberns battled unforced errors in their straight set loss.

The Knights move to 5-12, 2-5 TRC on the season.

The JV Knights won 3-1. Winners included Baylee Swain and Makayla Murphy in singles and Kyrstin Gouveia/Haleigh Snyder in doubles.

The Knights travel to Northwestern Saturday morning for a 9 AM match with the Tigers.
