The Manchester baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t get the bats going as they fell to Heritage 8-3 Friday.
Heritage would plate 3 runs in the first and 4 in the top of the second to lead 7-0 before the Squires would get on the board in the bottom of the inning. Noah Beck would lead off with a single and score on a David McAtee double to make it 7-1.
Heritage would make it 8-1 in the top of the sixth with the Squires getting the run back in the bottom. Grant Strobel led off drawing a walk, followed by a Kaleb Fluke single and a Mason Meyer rbi single to make it 8-2.
Manchester would plate one more run in the seventh when Kam Lester was hit by a pitch and later scored when McAtee reached on an error for the 8-3 final.
David McAtee had 2 hits & 1rbi. Mason Meyer had 1 hit & 1rbi. Jeremiah Airgood and Noah Beck each had a hit.
