The Southwood baseball team took a double header from Eastbrook Saturday, defeating the Panthers 13-9 and 13-8.
Southwood won game one of the double header in a marathon 12 inning game.
Knight hitters combined for 13 runs on 18 hits. Gabe Lloyd and Ethen Roberts were each 4 for 6. Gabe drove in 4 runs and Ethen scored 3 runs. Zach Ball had a pair of doubles. Clayton Wells and Carson Blair each had two hits. Matt Cox and Mason Lloyd each had a hit, and Lucas Topliff came up big in the 12th inning with a home run.
Southwood was able to complete the sweep by beating Eastbrook 13-8 in game 2.
Leading the way for the Knights was Joel Hinds going 4 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBIs. Clayton Wells and Zach Ball both went 2 for 3 at the plate and both had two stolen bases. Zach scored two runs and drove in two runs, while Clayton scored one run and drove in another. Mason Lloyd and Ethen Roberts also added two hits, and Gabe Lloyd, Carson Blair, and Lucas Topliff each added a hit. The Knights stole 8 bases on the day and they also walked 5 times offensively while only striking out 3 times. Clayton Wells started game two on the mound. He went three innings allowing four runs. Cameron Ball came in and went three innings himself, earning the win, and only allowing one run. Ethen Roberts then came in to shut the door and gave up 3 unearned runs in his inning of work.
