The Manchester baseball team split a double header with Blackford Saturday, falling in game one 2-1 before winning game two 7-5.
In game one the Squires plated their lone run in the second inning. Mason Roberts led off drawing a walk and advanced two bases on singles from Jeremiah Airgood and Kam Lester before David McAtee drove home the run with a ground ball.
Blackford scored both of their runs in the sixth.
Kam Lester and Jeremiah Airgood each had a hit. David McAtee had 1rbi.
In game two the Squires scored 7 runs and did it all in one inning. In the fourth Grant Strobel led off reaching on an error and was followed by a Hayes Strurtsman single. Mason Meyer followed by being hit by a pitch. Hunter Boughman would follow with a single with Noah Beck driving home a run on a fielders choice. Trey McNall would draw a walk, followed by Lassiter doing the same. McAtee would then triple home 3 runs. Scoring in the inning was Strobel, Sturtsman, Meyer, Beck, McNall, Lassiter, McAtee.
David McAtee led the Squires with 3 hits and 3rbi’s. Hayes Sturtsman added 2 hits, Hunter Boughman 1 hit, 1rbi.
