Manchester pitcher Hayes Sturtsman is back from surgery and let his presence be known as he limited Northfield to just 2 hits in a Manchester 5-0 win Monday.
The Squires would plate their first run in the fourth Sturtsman drew a lead off walk and was sacrificed to second. With two outs Hunter Boughman would reach on an error with Sturtsman scoring for a 1-0 lead.
The Squires would get some breathing room in the sixth. Mason Roberts would draw a walk and was followed by a Sturtsman single right after pinch runner Kane Gable was throw out at second. Meyer would then reach on an error with Sturtsman advancing to third. Jeremiah Airgood would then ground out with Sturtsman scoring to lead 2-0. Boughman would then hit a two run blast over the left field monster to increase the lead to 4-0.
Manchester would get one more run in the seventh. Noah Beck led off with a single and ended up on third with one out when Grant Strobel hit a fly ball to center with Beck tagging up to score.
