The week of the 2017 NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships opened on a high note for Manchester University senior women’s thrower Shay Aator (West Lafayette, Ind.) and senior women’s distance runner Mariah Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind.).
Each of them earned a third combined indoor and outdoor all-Great Lakes region honor from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Monday, May 22, recognized among a group of 945 student-athletes from across the country. The top five individuals in each event as well the top three relay teams on the Track and Field Results Reporting System’s final pre-national championship performance list gain all-region distinction.
Along national levels, Aator goes into the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships at The Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, ranked No. 22 in the hammer throw, and Jordan is No. 17 in the 10,000 meters. Competition in the 10,000 begins at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, May 25, with the hammer getting underway at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27.
