The Northfield and Southwood softball teams were both defeated in their opening game of the Oak Hill sectional Tuesday.
The Lady Norse fell to North Miami 6-0, while the Knights lost 6-1 to Oak Hill.
Northfield collected just 4 hits in the game, giving up 4 runs in the first inning and never being able to rebound. The Warriors would take advantage of 2 hits, an error and a hit batter to manufacture the 4 runs. North Miami would score single runs in the third and the sixth.
Ally Keaffaber, Kiana Kendall, Jordan Shafer and Michelle Hunt had Northfield’s hits.
Southwood was out hit just 7-5 with Oak Hill scoring solo runs in the first, second and fifth before scoring 3 runs in the sixth. The Knights lone run came in the seventh when Tabitha Thomas hit a one out single and was ran for by Kelsey Burhman. With two outs Makayla Proffitt would draw a walk before a Taylor Heath single and Burhman scoring on the throw to first.
Kassity Simpson, Makenna Pace, Thomas and Heath had the Southwood hits.
