The Wabash Apaches finally got to play ball Thursday after mother nature gave then a rest. The Apaches faced Oak Hill in the opening round of the Wabash sectional, stunning the Eagles 2-1 with an 8th inning walk off single from Robert Irgang.
After three and a half scoreless innings Wabash would grab the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Kaleb Kelsheimer and Kory Fuller would hit back to back single to start the inning. Kelshimer and courtesy runner Austin Haynes would pull off a double steal with one out with Kelsheimer scoring on an error for a 1-0 lead.
Oak Hill would score in the sixth on a double, single and grounder to make it 1-1 before both teams went out in order until the bottom of the eighth when the Apaches pulled off a two out rally. With two outs Kaleb Kelsheimer would single and was followed by a Fuller single to put runners on the corners. Robert Irgang then singled to left, driving home Kelsheimer for the 2-1 walk off win.
Wabash will now play Lewis Cass Saturday
