The Manchester boys soccer team played host to Huntington Saturday morning, jumping out to a 4-0 lead and hanging on for a 4-2 win.
Coach McKee ”Last year they got us 3-0. This year we were ready to play Squire soccer”.
Nathan Self got things going for Manchester with a goal at the 28:23 mark. The shot was a high arch that tipped the goalie’s finger tips before going into the net. With 21:35 left in the half Noah Beck would score off an assist from Harley Kruschwitz for a 2-0 lead at the half.
Kruschwitz would record his second assist with 27:27 left in the game when he found Isaiah Davis for a 3-0 lead, then get another assist when Caleb Stout scored with 23:03 left for a 4-0 lead. The Vikings would make a run at the Squires, scoring goals at the 16:53 and 11:47 marks before the Squires defense tightened for the 4-2 final.
Coach McKee ”The back four had a great game. they kept the Vikes out of the goal for 60 minutes. Justin Self, Kaidyn Alexander, Logan Isbell, Fermin Guerrero, Michael Learned and Jake Burton. Konrad Borgmann had an outstanding game in the goal”.
