The Northfield football team put up 35 points in the first half on their way to a 42-30 win over Bluffton Friday.
With 6:03 left in the first quarter the Norse would get on the board when Kyle Reed scored on a 2yd run for a 7-0 lead after the Kade Kennedy kick. Bluffton would answer just 16 seconds later to tie the score before the Norse mounted a drive that ended with A Matt Coe 22yd reception for a touchdown and a 14-7 lead. After a quick defensive stop Northfield would add to their lead when John Schuler scored on a 6yd run to lead 21-7.
Bluffton would get the first score of the second quarter before Schuler scored from 19yds out to lead 28-14. One more score would come before the half when Reed found the end zone from 2yds out with 25 seconds left on the clock. Northfield led 35-14 at the half.
Bluffton would get the only score of the third quarter and convert a two point conversion as the score was 35-22 with a quarter to go.
The Norse would get some breathing room midway through the fourth when Reed scored for a third time as the lead was 42-22. The Tigers would score one more time for the 42-30 final.
