Spartan Shorts: : Through four matches, junior right side hitter Haley Duncan (Albion, Ind.)is the team leader in kills (41), kills per set (2.56) and blocks/blocks per set (seven/.44). The freshman and junior setting tandem of Lauren Gandhi (Westfield, Ind.) and Dakota Stanichuk (Troy, Mich.) is each above 50 assists (Gandhi – 79/Stanichuk 53); senior outside hitter Ally Roskos (Elkhart, Ind.) is first in service aces (seven), while Gandhi is close behind (six); and sophomores Emma DeWitt (Brookston, Ind.), an outside hitter, and Anna Marie Lawrie (Indianapolis, Ind.), a defensive specialist and libero, are neck and neck (56-54) for the team top spot in digs … Duncan’s total kill numbers translate well on the early Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference statistics report. She’s fourth-highest in the category. Going deeper, DeWitt and Lawrie are just outside the top five (No. 6 and 7, respectively) in digs, Gandhi’s among the top 10 in assists per set (No. 7 – 4.94), and Duncan is 10th in kills per set … Junior middle hitter Hannah Tevis (Royal Center, Ind.), who earned all-tournament honors at Lake Forest, continues to track up the program’s all-time total blocks chart.
