The Southwood Knight Harriers traveled to Ft. Wayne on Saturday to compete in the New Haven Invite. Despite the heat index, the men’s team packed a punch to the competition with a 3rd place finish overall in a field of 24 teams.
Braden Sweet once again led the Knights with an excellent performance placing 3rd overall in a time of 17:08. Running on the heels of Braden was senior Chase Guenin grabbing a 6th place finish in a time of 17:30. Cayden Prickett finished in 31st place, setting a new PR of 18:41. Running 4th for the Knights and finishing in 58th was Carson Kelley who continues to improve and come on strong for the team. Alix Winer rounded out the scoring coming in 62nd. Ben Roudebush placed 63rd overall, setting a new PR of 20:06. Landon Topliff ran 7th man for the team, placing 67th.
Also competing for the Knights was Lamoine Silvers, Zach Roudebush, and Weslee Nelson.
The girls competed in two separate races Saturday morning on the campus of IPFW. Monica Hobson competed in the “A” race and finished 60th out of 143 runners. Morgan Farr ran in the “AA” race and finished 26th out of 177 runners.
The Knights travel to Manchester next Saturday for TRC action.
