Lady Norse Top Squires In Three

Another county rival volleyball game took place at Northfield Tuesday as Manchester came calling. The Lady Norse used a balanced front row and timely passes to defeat the Squires 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.

Northfield jumped out to a 10-5 lead in game one off kills from Kyra Kennedy, Ally Keaffaber and Kierston Stout before the Squires took advantage of a few Norse miscues to tie the score 11-11. The game would remain within two points until 19-18 when the Norse made a move. Keaffaber would record a kill that ignited a 6-2 run as Northfield took game one 25-20.

Game two would start a little different with the Norse going to Stout while the Squires rode Sydney Day who had three kills to give Manchester a 10-7 lead. Kelcie Thomson would then serve an ace for the Norse to start a 5-1 run that put Northfield up 12-11 before a Kara Kline kill made it 12-12. Northfield would then score four straight aided by a Keaffaber kill, then held a five point lead until 24-19 when Kennidy Lauer smoke a kill, followed by Kline to make it 24-22 before an out of bounds serve ended game two 25-22.

Manchester would take the early lead in game three 6-4 until the Norse found Addi Baker who had three kills in a 6-0 run to give Northfield an 11-7 lead. Again the Squires would find Day, who had two kills while Anna Osborne served an ace to tie the game 12-12. Northfield would then go to Kenzie Baer who had two kills to put the Norse up 20-15 before going on a 5-1 run to end the game 25-17.
