Southwood JH Football Takes Two From Rochester

The Southwood junior high football teams took on Rochester Tuesday.

The 7th grade defeated Rochester 34-0.

The Knights scored quickly on an Isaiah Sutton returned 36 yard punt, and then a Morgan Lloyd 9 yard run. The final score was 34-0, giving the young Knights an undefeated season.

On Offensive: Morgan Lloyd rushing for 19 yards (TD), passing 3-4 for 65 yards (Td & 2 PATs), receiving 52 yards (TD); Cole Winer rushing 6 yards, passing 52 yards (TD), returning 18 yards (TD); Isaiah Sutton 106 combined yards with 2 Touch Downs and a PAT; and Braxton Worthington had 23 yards rushing.
On defense: the Knights were dominant, lead by Braxton Worthington (11 tackles), Dylan Abshire and Jason Oprisek (10 tackles), Kaden Rody (9 tackles).

The 8th grade defeated Rochester 14-0

n 8th grade football the Knights played a shortened event of two, 10 minute running periods. The Knights scored in each period to post a 14-0 score.

Top offensive performances: Quarterback Joey Bland passed for 32 yards and ran for 31 yards (TD); Kaden Meredith 3 rushes for 45 yards (TD); Tyler Whitesel 40 total yards (PAT).
On defense: Tyler Whitesel lead the Knights with 7 tackles; Kaden Meredith, Kaden Rody, and Bryce Wyatt had 6 tackles.
