TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Senior goalkeeper Brady Forman (Hastings, Mich.) kept a stout Rose-Hulman squad at bay over a good share of a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference clash Saturday, Oct. 7.
Forman and counterpart Carter Wright battled to a scoreless draw at the Jim Rendel and Intramural Fields for better than 30 minutes. However, the home side worked its way through Coach Corey Brueggeman’s defense for a pair of goals from the 30th to 35th, taking a 2-0 lead into the break.
MU’s senior net minder was just as stellar in the second 45 minutes, not surrendering another Rose-Hulman score. Wright came under attack from a Manchester University offense fraught with urgency that had five shot on goal attempts in seven total tries. Unfortunately, Wright stepped to the forefront in each case, wrapping up a 90-minute clean sheet with a 2-0 victory.
Freshman forward Josh Gonzalez (Portage, Ind.) and junior midfielder Nate Johnson (Portage, Ind.) led the offense with four shot tries apiece.
MU (4-8 overall, 0-3 HCAC) begins a two-match home set Wednesday, Oct. 11. Start time against Franklin College is 4 p.m. at Good Field.
