Black and Gold resume road swing

Manchester University goes under the lights for a mid-week match-up with Franklin College Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Match details: It’s a 7:30 p.m. start at FC’s Faught Field … Live audio, stats and video are accessible at, the Internet home of Manchester University athletics … MU’s women are 0-11 overall and 0-3 in the league, while the host Grizzlies are 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the loop … The series has been in Franklin’s favor in each of the last three editions, but the Spartans harbored an 11-0-1 mark versus their conference foe in the 12 meetings prior.

Spartan Shorts: Junior midfielder/forward Maranda Birmingham (Kouts, Ind.) gave the Black and Gold a 1-0 less than a minute off the second half whistle Oct. 7, but Rose-Hulman rallied back, thanks in large part to two goals in an eight-minute span midway through the second half, to claim a 3-1 league win on the Jim Rendel and Intramural Fields in Terre Haute. Birmingham kept a recent strong form of play going, netting her second goal in the last three matches, and junior goalkeeper Cami Holford (Valparaiso, Ind.) tacked on her fifth double-digit save effort of the season to keep her team close … Through 11 contests, Birmingham and junior defender/midfielder Isabella Zoog (Brownsburg, Ind.) are tied for the squad goals (two each) and points (four apiece) lead. Senior midfielder Kelsey Ropp(Freeland, Mich.) (one goal) and fellow senior midfielder Courtney Hersick (Plymouth, Ind.) (two assists) round out the points chart.

Homecoming Weekend 2017: Transylvania University visits Good Field for 1 (women) and 3:30 (men) p.m. match times Saturday, Oct. 14.
