The Manchester Squires remained on a roll Friday, using a 13-3 second quarter in a 25-17 win over Maconaquah.
The Squires would strike first when the tandem of Hayes Sturtsman and Trey Clark hooked up for a 37yd scoring strike and a 6-0 lead. Maconaquah answered with a 16yd run and led 7-6 after the first quarter.
Manchester would dominate the second quarter, scoring on a 1yd Sturtsman run and a 79yd scoring pass play to Andrew McAtee while holding the Braves to just a field goal and led Maconaquah 19-10 at the half.
Maconaquah cut into the Squires lead in the third on a running score to make it 19-17, but the Squires had the answer when Sturtsman and McAtee hooked up a second time, this time from 41yds to make it 25-17 after the Klayton Hendrix kick.
The two defenses would battle it out in the fourth with neither allowing a point in the Manchester 25-17 win.
