Spartans stopped in season finale

NOTRE DAME, IND. – Senior outside hitter Ally Roskos (Elkhart, Ind.) drilled nine kills, and sophomore outside hitter Emma DeWitt (Brookston, Ind.) added eight successful attack attempts to top Manchester University’s offensive numbers Saturday, Oct. 28.

Roskos, in her last match as a Spartan, proved very active. She contributed a service ace, a block assist and 14 digs to go with her kill total. DeWitt’s afternoon resume wound up with a pair of service aces and six digs along with the eight kills.

The host St. Mary’s College Belles used a granite defense to offset the front line play of Coach Bryndon Paulsen’s side. SMC put up 13 blocks that added to a robust .213 team attack percentage that lifted the home team to a 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 sweep. The defeat ended the Black and Gold’s season at 11-12 overall.
