NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Ally Roskos couldn’t have picked a better way to wind up her home collegiate athletic career Saturday, Nov. 11.
Joining four Class of 2018 teammates in their final meet at Strauss-Peabody Aquatic Center, the two-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion and NCAA Division III regional diving qualifier defeated Franklin College and Indiana Wesleyan University foes in the six-dive competition. She tallied 240.95 points and nearly made it a sweep in the five-dive event, tallying 164,45 to end second to Franklin’s Lexi Blackburn (175.15).
Her event title led the Spartans’ women’s team to 55 points against IWU and 52 versus the Grizzlies. Freshman swimmer Shelby Kell (Charlottesville, Ind) resumed an impressive season, setting a program record in the 500-yard freestyle (5:58.25).
On the men’s side of the ledger Saturday, Coach Mike Kroll’s squad was guided by sophomore Christain Poole. The Anderson, Ind., native won the 50-yard freestyle for a second straight meet, hitting the pad in 22.47 seconds. MU turned in 34 points in a head-to-head meeting against Franklin.
Manchester University wraps up its pre-Thanksgiving schedule Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 and 19, at Ohio Wesleyan University’s Corbiere-Merion Invitational.
