MU dual season continues tonight

Manchester University looks to even its dual record with a match-up against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Adrian College Thursday, Nov. 16.

He was named to the contenders’ list at 149 … MU’s dual slate opened with a 33-5 loss at the hands National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III No. 5-ranked Wabash College Nov. 10.  Cauffman and Chase Wilson each collected decisions to lead the team, but the final score could have been much closer. Freshman 125-pounder Elijuh Weaver (Warren, Mich.) dropped a 13-8 thriller due to a late six-point move by WC’s Kaleb Guzier; Napier held a 9-6 lead in the final period before the Little Giants’ Kyle Hatch turned the tables with a fall; freshman 165-pounder David Kitko (Noblesville, Ind.) was down 9-2 after one period and pieced together a furious rally in a 14-9 loss; a third period takedown was the only difference between Tristan Wilson and Hunter Bates in a 4-2 final; and Roberts was side-stepped by Kyle Shaffer due to a seven-point final frame … Thursday’s dual is one of two against MIAA institutions, as the Black and Gold host in-state non-conference rival Trine University Feb. 6 … The Adrian trip is one of three events that wind up the program’s first-semester schedule. Lake’s squad hosts the Indiana Little State Championships Saturday, Dec. 2, and then has a home dual with Ohio Athletic Conference member Ohio Northern University Friday, Dec. 8.
